Breeding is not taking lightly for me, and I want to be absolutely sure all of my bases are covered. For that reason, I spent a great deal of time considering what the best breeding plans were for Sedona. In the end, I decided to breed Sedona to CH Coedwig's Malachite. Rocky has produced the style and breed type I am hoping to achieve in my own breeding program several times, with a variety of different girls. Sedona has been bred and we expect a litter due to be whelped (pending conception, of course!) in April. Brindle pointed black puppies are expected from this litter. If you are interested in being added to the wait list for this litter, please drop me an email at traci@gotcorgi.com. You can see the pedigree for the litter here
My decision to breed does not come lightly. Sedona tested, according to the OFA, as "Mild", which was heartbreaking. Penn-hip results were returned with 1 hip coming back with a measurement of .63 and the other .42. The breed median according to Penn-hip is .61. This means that Sedona's right hip is .02 away from the breed median. She is asymptomatic (meaning, she shows NO signs of CHD) and since her measurements came back *so* close to the breed median, I decided to go forward with using her. Sedona is PRA clear through her lines. She is clear for Degerative Myopothy, has tested Clear through CERF, and is a fluff carrier. .
